Not a computer game geek at all, but have in recent times appreciated the story-telling potential and art that is starting to develop in the medium. The stakes of which have been further highlighted for me by the release of the year's best trailer in all forms for the computer game Dead Island. A very clever and creative use of montage and time, reminiscent of the last season narrative arc of LOST where past and present begin and collide, here it is equally effective as emotion and sentiment smash against panic and mayhem.
Very cool. Contemporary filmmakers could learn a thing or two.
