Efforts paying off for Winston Reid

A great headed goal from Winston Reid capped off an excellent all round performance for the All Whites CB in West Ham's FA CUP pasting of Burnley today.  It's been a tough start for the world cup hero, but the goal may now provide some confidence and allow him to justify his presence.

Quotes from the soccernet match report show the player is getting better defensively as well.

"The England Under-21 man lifted the ball over the onrushing Green but Reid came to the stopper's rescue with a crucial clearance."

"...with Reid in particular doing well to stifle the pacy threat of Rodriguez."
