| A good looking monkey |
Apparently an origin story, the Rise of the Planet of the Apes production released its first trailer today featuring James Franco in its billing and the Weta digital effects team. Dialogue seems a little hockey in its snippets with a plot ripped right out of shark thriller Deep Blue Sea. Also experienced a weird déjà vu moment when after the Weta Digital Effects team title come up, I saw King Kong jump out at the screen. Looks like they have taken the exact same digital model, shrunk and cloned him. Suppose it makes sense. The chimp model played by Andy Serkis does look awesome though. Know the man doing the CG modelling for the hair in the film and looks like he has done an excellent job.

PS. Why didn't they just called this Rise of the Apes? Rise of the Planet of the Apes is just clumsy no?
